Javier Rojas

Born in Havana, Rojas started his training in the workshops held by the National School of Ballet. In 2007 he continued studies at the School of Ballet Alejo Carpentier and five years later at the National School of Ballet. As a student, he participated in the International Contest for Ballet Students achieving a third place with the pas de deux of La fille mal gardée and a place in the finals with the pas de deux of Le Corsaire. In 2014 he participated in the International Ballet Festival Elogio de la Danza in Peru, with the pas de deux El mercader y la esclava (The merchant and the slave), Le Corsaire and the Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux by George Balanchine. In 2015 he danced, with the Ruth Page School of Dance in Chicago, the pas de deux of Le Corsaire and as a soloist in both, Summer Place and Los tres estados del alma (The three stages of the soul) by the Cuban-American choreographer Pedro Ruiz. Rojas danced the pas de deux of the ballet Coppélia with the Sarasota Cuban Ballet School (Florida). In 2015 he graduated as a ballet dancer and ballet teacher at the National School of Ballet.
